Founded in 1952 and incorporated in 1976 the Verde Valley Concert Association (VVCA) is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Board members are committed to the arts and many have first hand experience in either performing or managing the arts. |
|
MISSION STATEMENT
The VVCA mission is to:
1) present a balanced variety of professional performing arts accessible to residents of the Verde Valley;
2) promote the knowledge and appreciation of performing arts by contributing educational opportunities to students; and
3) provide performance opportunities for talented Arizona artists. |
|
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Our Mission is met through two main programs:
Concert series available to the public, and
A three-part Youth Outreach Program. The proceeds from the concert season tickets and donations contribute to the financing of the Youth Outreach Program.
1) Missoula Childrens Theater activities in Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Sedona, and Village of Oak Creek.
2) Scholarship Programs. Rising Stars Scholarship Program provides monetary awards through a juried performing arts competition. We also provide scholarships for talented musical students to attend the Northern Arizona University Summer Music Camp thanks to grants received from The Arizona Diamondbacks Charities and Young Sounds of Arizona.
3) In-school music residency program. |
